Medieval RPG Game preview

After a few months of modern day Nitrome games, we return back to the 80’s Nitrome Enjyoment System games! Nitrome has shown us a preview of an upcoming NES game, which is a medieval themed platformer starring a Knight who has rescue captured peasants. The Castle the knight is in is full of happy skeleton heads just minding their own business. For all of you who looked at the NES skin, you will notice this game was first hinted in the skin.

And, is that Blue from Test Subject Blue standing there, or a Slime from Dragon Quest? I’m guessing this game will be released after Steamlands, but until then, we have Steamlands to look forward to.

I definitely think this game will be released before Steamlands. The last time they previewed an NES game (The Bucket), the game came out a few days later. Also, we just recently got a Steamlands update in which Nitrome said they had just begun thorough testing.

I agree … many times the Nitrome already did it … and without speaking, he still has tests to I-Phone, and maybe the NES games are released for it, so if the games before launch Steamlands I-Phone medieval game and it will take more time than what agent thinks.

Looks like a NES version of tiny castle to me.. kinda šŸ™‚

I would agree at first. But Tiny Castle had Checkpoints, and the game didn’t pause into a ‘Level Complete’ screen, it just kept going. This game seems like it will have individual levels, and with traps being the main enemies. Tiny Castle really didn’t use many traps, and it wasn’t a very lengthy game. I expect this one to be a bit more challenging.

Agreed, according to its image on the NES skin, it looks like it will have more than just one level šŸ™‚

New blog post; Canary won the internet game of the month award in a magazine called ‘Edge’. Nitrome games have been mentioned before in Edge but I can’t really remember what games and in what way :] (Headcase once won an internet game of the month award as well, that might have been in Edge too.)

Posted by ‘JK’, probably John Kennedy, the programmer ;P

I think I know the plot of this game.On Jay.D Smith’s Twitter page (atarimonkey),he wrote the next post:
“Today I will mostly be animating Knights dying horribly in traps set by a demented princess! ;D”
After the graphics,I think he will design it.
